Your SEO Questions Answered

SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) is basically the practice of improving your website’s visibility in search engine results pages (SERPs) such as Google.

The higher you rank, the more likely potential customers are to find you. SEO is crucial for attracting organic (non-paid) traffic, increasing brand awareness, and ultimately driving more leads and sales.

Ah the million dollar question!

Search engines, such as Google, use complex algorithms to determine which websites are most relevant to a user’s search query. SEO involves optimising various aspects of your website – from its content and structure to its technical setup and online reputation – to signal its relevance and authority to search engines.

Another great question, and probably the most asked question by my clients and potential clients.

If you’re looking for a quick-fix, forget it! SEO is a marathon, not a sprint. I am going to be completely honest and transparent with you here, while you might see some initial improvements relatively quickly, significant and sustainable results typically take 3-6 months or even longer, depending on the competitiveness of your industry and the current state of your website. It’s an ongoing process of refinement and adaptation.

Much like web design, I see SEO as an investment and not a cost as it can increase your leads and sales.

All I will say is that SEO pricing (investment) varies depending on the scope of work and the competitiveness of your industry. I offer different packages tailored to different budgets and business needs. We can discuss your specific requirements and provide a customised quote.

On-page SEO refers to optimising elements within your website, such as content, keywords, and site structure. Off-page SEO involves building your website’s authority through external factors, like backlinks from other reputable websites. Both are essential for a successful SEO strategy.

For me, this is one of the most crucial elements of SEO. Keyword research is the process of identifying the terms and phrases that your target audience uses when searching for products or services like yours. Targeting the right keywords is crucial for attracting relevant traffic to your website.

Local SEO focuses on optimising your online presence for local searches. If you have a physical location and serve customers in a specific geographic area, local SEO is essential for attracting nearby customers. This includes optimising your Google Business Profile and building local citations (listings in business directories).

Good old Google! Google regularly updates its search algorithm. I stay up-to-date with these changes and adapt our strategies accordingly to ensure your website maintains its rankings and performance. I prioritise best practices that are less susceptible to algorithm updates.

SEO is an organic (non-paid) strategy that focuses on earning higher rankings in search results. Paid advertising, like Google Ads, allows you to pay for your website to appear at the top or bottom of search results. While both are valuable marketing strategies, they work in different ways. SEO is a long-term investment, while paid advertising can deliver immediate results.

what my clients are saying

Check out just a couple of my recent reviews from happy clients

Martin has recently redesigned our website as it just wasn’t really working for us and not getting much traffic, now not a day goes by where we don’t get an enquiry in through our website and we’re showing up in lots more Google searches thanks to the SEO work that Martin did for us. Martin took on board any requests/changes we had and worked with us to create the new site. Thank you Martin!

Kirsty & Paul Nunn – P Nunn Installations, Norwich

I first met Martin 2 years ago. Little did I know then that his knowledge and expertise would stay with me and mould how I present myself online way after our initial meetings. I often refer back to our discussions and I’m so thankful we were introduced. Not only does Martin continue to have a positive impact on my business in various different ways, he’s also an absolute star, a lovely chap and a pleasure to work with.
